What are you doing tonight?

Well, I have 10 minutes. Ok, 15, if Cam and Kai keep coloring. Noah is at Mutual and Ryan is at a meeting for an exchange to Montreal he wants to go on. And Grey's starts in 20.
This is my new color and 'do. You can't really see the color, but its got a bit of red in it. Not too much because I do wear quite a bit of pink, but some. And its not really so flat in 3D. I guess you just have to come see me if you want to see it for real. Cam took the picture.
We are home for the holidays. (My thoughts and prayers are with my BFF Angie and her parents this weekend. We were going to visit but her dad had a stroke...I'm sure they'd appreciate your prayers, too) If you are, too, and have a turkey you can come on over and share it if you want. I'll even put it in the oven for you. We'll have to squish the baking between some university basketball, AAA hockey, homework, swimming and laundry, though. It CAN be done! Those are my plans...what are yours?
I parked in the garage yesterday. (You may recall that my goal was to do so before there was snow on the ground. I barely made it. By, like, 12 hrs.) This is a huge thing. HUGE. Perry helped.
My time is up.
I hope you have a wonderfully warm evening and that Izzy starts taking care of herself, Alex stops pestering her and McDreamy gets to keep his job. And marries Meredith for real.
~Thanks for stopping by (after all this time!)

Good evening.
This is a picture of the chaise in our front entry, as well as a couple of coach potatoes. It is now 2 months later and I still love the shape and color of it. YAH! (the chaise, not the coach potatoes.)

Home Decor

Just a short little blog because I'm tired and want to go to bed. These pictures are to keep my mom happy...

This is my favorite new thing! I love how the letters fit above the door perfectly!

AFTER!!!!

I know the boulders look a bit like the twin towers, but the shrubs behind them will be 6' when grown so they will be a nice back drop, I think. We were going to put a few big boulders and shrubs on the bark chips, but decided to let the new owners do that! I wanted a bench, too.
~Cheers,

YAH!!

From this...

ok, so I was going to put a before and after picture for our front lawn on, but realized I don't have an "after" picture to post. I opened the door to go outside to take a picture and stopped. It is raining. Hard. I think I'll wait for the after picture. However, my front yard is beautiful! New sod and a great double decker flower bed made out of rock with bubbling boulders in the middle. Too bad we are moving in 2 weeks! The landscaping is done already at the new house - we are just adding a water feature in the back yard because I love the sound of running water when I'm outside. I'll post pictures when I get them!

I hope it stops raining soon as I'm going to Kenny Chesney tonight at Commonwealth!

Uses for jello

For work I rent out inflatable jumping rooms. I get all kinds of phone calls asking if we rent other items...like dunk tanks or cotton candy machines and the like. This morning, though, I had my best request yet.

"Good morning, Astrojump."

"Hi. Do you have a recipe for jello?"

"Excuse me?"

"I'm looking for a recipe for jello. I want to fill a pit with jello and then wrestle in it."

"Ah, ok. Sorry, I don't have a recipe that big!"

What would you have said?

conversation with Cam

"How was your field trip to the greenhouse today, Cam?"

"Booorrring. I had to miss recess and everything."

"You didn't do anything fun?"

"No, I did this (wave arms around in front of your face) to keep the misquitos away, but one sneaky one got through and so, look, I have a bite!"

Funny, I feel the same way about sperm.

JUST TO CLARIFY - I AM NOT PREGNANT. I WAS ACTUALLY THINKING ABOUT MY LAST CHILD WHEN I WROTE THAT. !! DUE TO ALL THE PRECAUTIONS THAT HAVE TAKEN PLACE IF I EVER DO GET PREGNANT AGAIN YOU WILL KNOW FOR SURE THAT THE LORD WORKED AROUND OUR PLANS!!

Drumheller May Long Weekend

Kai sharing his smore's.

Noah and Cam reenacting one of the displays at the Tyrell Museum. Too funny! At first I didn't know what they were doing with Cam on the floor and Noah stepping on him, but as soon as I looked at the display I figured it out. Just a little bit slow am I!
Kai at the top of the World's Largest Dinosaur in downtown Drumheller.
Ryan and Brittany at the reptile museum. No, he didnt bring her home as a pet.
This hill was right behind out camping site. It was great because it kept the boys entertained all weekend. One time, Ryan was going up and Noah decided not to. Then, 3 teenage girls in bikini tops and shorts started up the hill...Noah changed his mind and up he went to see if he could bet the girls to the top. Later that day one of the girls recognized him at the bumper boats and stopped to chat. So it begins...

hot date!

Hubby called me the other day and said he had a date planned for us. Yah! He usually has good ideas...he came home with a Mustang convertible that he had rented for the weekend!! I am of the opinion that if you have a car it's not really a sports car unless it is a convertible. I LOVE THEM!!! Someday I will own one...We had so much fun driving around on a gorgeous night with the top down. We even went to dinner on the other side of the city just so we could drive there! I hope the next time your hubby plans a date he makes it something you like as well!!

Now I just have to wait until July to move. The good thing about that is there is lots of time to dejunk before we go. The bad thing is there is lots of time to dejunk before we go!

Lame children

Ok, that sounds really funny but I seriously do have a lame child! Cam sprained his ankle earlier this afternoon and boy is he a demanding little thing! Can I get him a drink, then a snack, then a pillow...I don't really mind at all because the poor boy has to sit inside while everyone else is outside jumping on the sticky wall. But really, I draw the line at picking up a Chaotic card for him that fell right beside him on the floor. Not even a full arms length away! I just gave him a hug and a kiss and another cookie. Yeesh!
How about you? What do you do in the name of lameness? (or sickness, or maybe even laziness!)

From my friend and former roomie - Catherine. You're so thoughtful!

Love this from my book club buddie Erin - Thanks!
A painting from a friends daughter, given to me by another friend and great neighbour - Dawn Marie.
The blue is from my mom and the purple from my SIL Leanne. Both gorgeous!!

What a cutie

This boy is constantly making us laugh! He is so adorable I just want to squeeze him all the time. Except of course when he's really grumpy, or in a hitting phase, or when he cries for no reason I can see. Oh yah, he's 2!

I'm addicted!

I love the show on TLC "What Not to Wear" !!!! It is on 3 times a day and because I haven't been watching it for long none of them are repeats. I don't watch 3 times a day and so I have a whole lotta shows on my DVR, but I can't wait to get to them all!

On the show they pick one person whose friends/whoever nominated them. Stacey and Clinton follow them around for 2 weeks to get an idea of how they are dressing and get video to show back to the person. The person has to go to New York for a week (I know, big hardship) let Stacey and Clinton critique/throw out their whole wardrobe, then shop with a visa loaded with $5000. Pick me, pick me! On the second day of shopping S&C join them to help. (I'd pay for that!) Then they get a hair and make up make over.

I think the single best thing I like is that Stacey and Clinton are not telling you to lose 5 lbs then shop for this...but rather "this is your body shape, this is how to dress it best". I learn new things each time I watch! I just got their book out of the library and can't wait to read some more!

Go check it out~ you won't be disappointed! (This is a gerat show to watch while you are on the elliptical)

so cute

Today at Cam's school it was Student Led Conferences. This follows their report card and is a chance for the children to show their parents what they have been working on in kindergarten. Perry likes to go to the school for these events because as a general rule I am there more on a daily basis. Cam really wanted me to go as well, but as always, there was another boy who had to be somewhere else at the same time. I got the camera out for Cam and asked him to take some pictures of the special things that he wanted to show me. This is the exact spot Cam sits every morning while they get the day started. How cute is that that this is one of his pictures? I love it! I also got to see a craft he made, the weather chart and the table he sits at to work. I have to say it was a brilliant solution to send the camera with him! Perry said Cam had a great time showing him stuff then taking a picture for mom!

Kai is 2!

Keeping me honest

The only reason I am sharing this awful picture with you is to keep me honest. This is my unbelievable craft room. How did it get like this?? I am getting it cleaned up! 15 minutes a day. I can do it! I'll post an "after" picture in a week. That better be enough time!

I'm in a funk.

And I can't get out. I don't feel like doing anything. I don't want to make dinner, or clean the toilet or go grocery shopping or tidy the boys bedroom. Ugh. I think this is what they mean by the wintertime blues. What do you do to fix this??

Wowzers!

This is one of those mornings you just want to crawl back into bed and stay there for the day. The wind is howling, the snow is blowing and we're all but locked in the house by a snowdrift out the front door. Now, the boys are off at school, Kai is happily playing and I cound be in the middle of a really good book in 5 minutes flat. My bed is calling...decisions, decisions...

a few more pictures to share...then I'm done, for sure!

This is the view from our favorite spot at the pool. I got tired of waking up early so I could get a spot at the beach when here we always got the beds we wanted no matter when we got there! There is a bar at the top right of the picture that you can't see, and waiters to bring you food and drinks. No wonder we love it there!

At Ocean World there is a huge aquarium in front of the casino entrance. I saw fish in there bigger than anywhere else! (Not including the shark watching we did a few years ago!)
Everytime we passed this sign it made us laugh, and we could never time it right to get a picture without the trees in the middle. It says "If you can read this, you can work here, looking for english speaking people". You know when you call Panasonic to find out why your phone isn't working...I bet your call ends up here! Or somewhere similiar.
These boys had machetes and they lobbed off the ends of a coconut to give to you. I'm pretty sure they didn't have a license for the knives. They don't look old enough to use such big knives, do they?
This picture makes me laugh! I think its funny. I was laying on the bench with my head on Perry's lap when we were on the yacht. The sun was bright so I was covering my face with my hat. Perry was being lazy and took the picture without moving. It was pretty comfy, as things considered. I think I like this picture because it makes my legs look skinny!

thank you!

My parents came up for a few days after a plea from me to help dejunk my house. We got so much done and now after I am finished tidying up my house looks clean! What a huge blessing!

My dad put a door on one of my bedrooms, fixed my vacuum outlet and hung mirrors and pictures for me. What would I do without him? These are the pictures from the Dominican when we went with the boys over New Years. When mom and I decided on the arrangement we knew we needed dad to hang them or they wouldn't be right! This is on the wall by our back entry - everytime we come in the house we stop and look and remember how much fun we had together as a family. love it! I'm thinking about putting "Dominican 09" or some such thing above it with word to the wall, or maybe on the bottom of the middle frame. What do you think?

I really want to show you a picture of the closet mom cleaned ( as well as many other areas) but I don't think you'd be interested in my linen closet. Just know it looks fantastic!

Thanks mom and dad! I love you!

Kaylani needs...

Ok, so my SIL put her name with "needs" after it in a search engine and then posted the first 10 things that came up. I thought it would be fun, so I tried it. I should have know better! I knew from a different search (many months ago) that there is a porn star named Kaylani Lei in Asia. So, baring that in mind I will share the first 2 items after my search, and leave the rest alone. My only excuse for forgetting about Kaylani Lei is that it is late and I'm ready for bed!

1. It is very important to Kaylanis happiness to talk, share ideas, go places together and learn new things together. (yup.)

2. Kaylani planning to undergo breast augmentation surgery. (I hadn't thought about it...what do you think?)

3-10. not worth mentioning!!!

So, we haven't been home more than 30 hours, but Perry is back at the airport headed to Vancouver for the weekend. Since he has the camera, I can't share any more pictures with you yet from our trip. Monday for sure!

Book Club

I love my book club ladies. To quote one of them...

"tattoo's, shoes, naked yoga, miss used nighties, food, movies, showgirls, cats, kids, 2 times a day, chocolate......book club !!!!!!"

These were a few of our topics last night. I love these ladies. We chat about anything knowing we won't be ridiculed or frowned at. I just walk into the room for the evening and feel my worries go to the back of my head for a couple of hours and prepare myself to laugh and enjoy. We are all so varied and have such different struggles and challenges and backgrounds that the conversation is never lacking. It really does boost me up to face another month! I may come from a large family, but I love these 7 other sisters of mine!

day 6

When I said it rained before we got here, I guess that was a bit of an understatement. It poured, nonstop, for 10 days before we got here. There were people crying at the check out desk because they were leaving and hadn't seen the sun once. That would be sooo disappointing. I would probably cry, too.

Paradise Island was fun! I think our favorite part was swimming in the ocean off the yacht with the floating bar. I want one of those for our little pool. It would be so fun! It was pretty windy on Paradise Island, but we still had fun. There was a couple from drayton Valley on the same trip that we had fun with.

We went to the Tex - Mex restaurant last night and it was our favorite by far! (So far - we go to the gourmet one tonight) We were eating no less than 15 minutes after we got there, the service was great and the food was yummy! When you come here you'll have to go!

We met a couple from New York that are on the same floor in the same building we are in. very nice people. They have 2 boys that are 13 and 16. They are here with a group that includes some teenage girls. The girls parents had to deal with drinking and going off the resort grounds at 2 am last night...Let me tell you I am happy with my boys!

I think I miss the boys more this trip just because they have been here before and I know how much they loved it. Ryan and Noah would have been all over Paradise Island! and the restaurants, and ping pong and golf.....I can't wait to bring them again!

Have a wonderful day and I'll see you in 2 days!

Day 2

Well, I can't complain about the weather. When we landed on Wednesday I asked the cab driver how the weather had been. He said we were lucky - it had just stopped raining. The ground had puddles everywhere and it was really wet. It didn't rain that night, and it was beautiful yesterday and today. All everyone talked about yesterday was the rain - I guess it really poured. I'm not really sad I missed it! Perry just said he saw two clouds today, and 1 looked like a fluffy bunny! LOL! It is suppose to be 28 tomorrow again...I'll take it!
Last night at the casino was fun - we lost $10 in about that many minutes and then Perry cut me off. He did better than I did though. I should have let him finish off all the tokens! I never knew there were so many decisions to make with slot machines - I thought you just put in the quarter and pressed the button! Oh well, better not to get to comfortable in there!
Tomorrow is Valentine's Day and we are going to Paradise Island for snorkelling and a Yacht ride. Fitting, don't you think?

(I missed Ryan and Noah a bit today - they had so much fun last time we were here! I miss Cam and Kai, too, but they were more work! LOL! When I got towels today the pool guy said "Oh, I know you" I told him we had been here over New Years with our 4 boys, and he said "Oh yes! Ping Pong! I beat him every time!" Noah will be happy to know he was remembered and quick to say he won lots, too!)

12 hours

That is how long I slept last night. Do you remember the last time you slept that long, all at once? I don't! Delicious! We landed just after 5, checked in, had dinner, and laid down for a nap. 12 hours later and it was time to get up!!! I love holidays!!! Good thing, too, because tonight we go in a limo to a "Las Vegas style show". Should be fun...

Ya like?

What do you think of my new look? I love it! Now if only real life could be altered this quickly we'd all be smiling and happy!

Long time no stamp...

Heya all! Here are some cards we did for our last stampers club. Hope you like them!
This "Live with Passion" was inspired by another card - but I don't remember where I saw it to see how close it is or to give them credit! I'm so sorry!
The white flowers are heat embossed with irridescent ice EP and are really glittery. Love it!
This card uses the "go go boots" alphabet for the Big Shot machine. The letters are die cut, glued to the front then covered with Crystal Effects so they look glossy. Cut, fun and simple!

15 years

Hubby and I recently celebrated our 15th anniversary. Wowzers!
This is the necklace I got for enduring so long! The pearls move so they can be side by side, or seperated like they are now. It is really quite pretty. Perry has pretty good taste in jewelry and I like most everything he picks out.

This is us in the Dominican. Noah took this picture and I think he did pretty good!

We're Home!!

What a fabulous time we had!
I only have a minute and I don't have any pictures uploaded onto the computer yet, but I thought I'd share some memorable moments from each of my children.

Ryan - "There's tonnes of junk in my trunks!"
background - the boys went body surfing lots! (Cam said he wasn't body surfing - just swimming with the waves!) After the first time Ryan had changed his clothes and came out of the bathroom and said "Be careful about the floor - there was tonnes of junk in my trunks!" I was a little nervous until I looked and saw the floor covered in sand and shells etc. I think this phrase was used daily after that because it always made us laugh.

Noah - The beach area had little pools that you could swim in to cool off and such. The day after the boys had swam with the dolphins they were in this pool and Noah said "Watch everyone - I'm going to be a dolphin." He then went under water and jumped up doing a twist and landed on his belly. He continued to do this for a couple of minutes and Cam joined in. It was too funny! Cam was pouring water on the deck of the pool later so that he could do a "Sea Lion Slide"

Cameron - Loved to body surf! The first day while he was figuring it out he'd go under the wave and then jump up and say "I just got pounded!" After the 2nd day it changed to "I didn't get pounded!" Cam had the best rides because of his life jacket (which I am soooo glad we took!). The jacket would keep him afloat and he could ride out the end of the wave when eveyone else was beached. Of course, his definition of a great ride was whether or not he got pounded, not how far he went!

Kai - What do you do to get noticed everywhere you go? Take a curly haired blonde 1 year old who started to say "ola!"! His hair got curlier as we got closer to POP, and straighter as we flew farther away! All the locals stopped to pat his curls and say "Ola!" He'd charm them right off by saying it back - which made them laugh and pat his head again and it was a continuous circle. He did great the whole trip - still have a 3 hour nap in the afternoon which gave us a little down time everyday and was happy as could be.

This is longer than I intended and I really have to go! We got home at 3:30 this morning and I just got up. I need to get a few things done before the boys are moving around.

~Ola!
